Having forsaken the parabats, been denied my pilot’s licence and been selected as a Bisley marksman, there was still options and more to do.

Lectures, punishment, fetching leaves, pushups, Bisley marksmanship, arseholes, and insanity. It was all there.

There were options in the apartheid army. One could become a paratrooper, a pilot or remain in the infantry as cannon-fodder and die.
