Hope springs. That is such a loaded term (spring-loaded, perhaps?), because it can refer to a place named after Hope, or it can reference Spring, or it simply denotes optimism. Whatever, hope is definitely springing in South Africa right now, with high-profile arrests for corruption, welcome spring rains, spectacular nature displays and the end of lockdown. Our weekend edition, therefore, is full of both hope and Spring. Enjoy!
