A (possibly) unexpected outcome of the lockdown has been Covid Corpulence... the weight-gain from sitting at home with little to do but eat cheap and cheerful comfort food.
But help is at hand...and here is also an opportunity to make some lifestyle changes to what might have been bad habits in the first place. The C-virus has focussed attention of the sinisterly-sounding 'co-morbidities' - almost all of which are self-inflicted lifestyle conditions.

First off, the BBC has an entertaining mini-documentary about why we reach for the bikkies over the broccoli: Food for Thought

And one of many weightloss apps is the unfortunately-named FatSecret, which despite its name is not just a fat-buster but a very useful lifestyle table that monitors (without any judgement) the calories, nutrition, recommended dietary allowance, exercise and preferred weight of any individual. It really pulls you up short to know that an app is giving you the kind of good advice that you cannot argue your way out of. And if you are honest - and why would you not be? - you will be shocked to find out what you actually are eating.

Perhaps this is the time to think seriously about chucking out the cake and coke, and placing your orders for the fruit and veggies. Your life might even depend on it.

This week we take a break from those dark brooding police procedurals with conflicted cops and pathological serial killers. In fact, seeing there are hundreds of these shows, each one with a bodycount of approximately six victims, we now know what is really de-populating our First World countries. The real astonishment is that there is anyone left.
So from this week we will look at classic comedies, taking the best of each genre - giving you a walk down memory lane while making you laugh. Each recommendation will be a breakthrough film in some respect. If you cannot find these on Netflix or Showmax, try Amazon Prime Video. It will be worth it.
Our first pick is Good Morning Vietnam, the film that introduced Robin Williams' frenetic run-on-mouth comedy style to a delighted world. A few years later he played the Genie in the animated Disney film Aladdin, and completely transformed the genre.
