A Quest to Unfurl Life’s Hidden Message – By Vaughan Jones

Writing challenges play an important part in developing one’s writing skills in all forms of writing. I have found this to be surely true about poetry, because there are hundreds of distinctly different forms of poetry. I think it would be impossible to master all of them because it depends on one’s own natural style of writing and communicating.

This poem is in the Licentia form.

The Licentia Rhyme Form, a poetic form created by Laura Lamarca, consists of at least 3 12-line stanzas with 11 syllables per line. Of course, the poem can be elongated adding on to the following rhyme scheme: aabbccddeeAA, BBffgghhiiAA, CCjjkkllmmAA. The Licentia Rhyme Form is named after Laura Lamarca’s signature, “La” and “Licentia” is Latin for “Freedom”. A quote from https://shadowpoetry.com.

I took up the challenge and thoroughly enjoyed the creative writing experience that it became. A five star rating was awarded with motivating compliments in the writing.com website.

A Quest to Unfurl Life's Hidden Message
By Vaughan Jones

Pondering on life and the ways of this world,
wondering whether I'd e'er find it unfurled.
I'm delving, digging, searching far and wide,
reading extensively, researching none aside;
Coming close, never finding the truth or source
of all existence; the reason for our course.
I dig deep within myself, searching my soul,
only to discover more doubts on my role.
Tiring of this extensive, grueling life quest
for truth continues to allude my behest.
Pondering on life and the ways of this world,
wondering whether I'd e'er find it unfurled.

I stroll through the forest, absorbing free life,
smelling the foliage, natural fragrance is rife,
I taste the crystal-clear water, totally fresh,
flowing in the stream that runs through the mesh.
Fully refreshed, newly invigorated.
all's well with my body, feeling well fated,
I sit on a rock, hands upturned, open wide
to center my energies, thoughts put aside,
In meditative spirit state I reside;
centered in calm state, in awe I abide
Pondering on life and the ways of this world,
wondering whether I'd e'er find it unfurled.

In looking up at heaven's deep void cask,
in the blue illusion of the day I bask.
Our Sun radiates warmth and light to Earth's realm,
nature and our solar system at the helm.
Photosynthesis generates life in plants,
cosmic energies radiate not perchance,
Birds pollinate, bees buzzing from their hives.
moonlight's illusion, romance for our lives,
Lunar path tugs and shoves to control Earth's tide.
yet in awe I still wonder, eyes open wide;
Pondering on life and the ways of this world,
wondering whether I'd e'er find it unfurled.

I would warmly appreciate comments and I’d like to receive like poems from fellow writers.
