This poem covers the reality of the utter nullification of what began as a beautiful life here on planet earth for me and for many of us. It is so strange how life changes, values change, even religions change over a lifetime.

On Sunday Nov 8, the television programme Carte Blanche aired a ‘documentary’ based on a controversial study. Cats of South Africa, an animal rights organisation, protested to Carte Blanche that airing the programme would lead to heightened cruelty to animals. But Carte Blanche still went ahead.
Creative writing rocks. I received a response from a dear friend and fellow writer in response to the challenge to write a ballad as I proposed in the article covering my ballad, ‘Pigeons Nesting on my Stoop’, published in last week’s SAFREA Chronicle. Merely having received the response was exciting, but once I had read the poem, I was exhilarated and blown away.
